2. 1 The Chair welcomed Iwan Prys-Jones, John Forsey, Hubert Mathias and Mark Youngman to the meeting. Members questioned the witnesses.

3.  Inquiry into Integrated Public Transport: Ministerial Scrutiny Session (11.00 - 12.00)

3.1. The Chair welcomed the Minister for Local Government and Communities and officials to the meeting. Members questioned the witnesses.

 

Action points:

The Minister for Local Government and Communities agreed to provide a note on the following:

·         How much money is invested in the bus and rail network

·         Provide an update in March on progress with implementing the “Go Cymru” card for rail.

·         The Welsh Government’s definition of community transport

·         Clarification on the number of Community Transport groups that are now self-sufficient, without government funding.

·         What stage is the Minister at in terms of making a case for additional powers, as the current legislation on railways doesn’t align with the Minister’s priorities.
